Preparation Instructions:
Each filter pack contains 1 ounce of tea, which is ideal for 1 gallon of strong tea, or up to 2 gallons of weaker tea. If you don’t have a dedicated iced tea brewer, there are several other options.
Coffeemaker method: Using a basic 10 or 12-cup home coffeemaker, place one tropical iced tea filter bag pack in the filter basket of your brewer. Brew a pot, just as if you were making coffee. This yields approximately 1/2 gallon of very strong hot tea. Allow the tea to cool slightly, then pour into a large container with 1/2 to 1.5 gallons of ice water. Serve immediately, or refrigerate.
Sun tea method: Place one filter back in the bottom of a large clear container (usually glass) that can hold at least 1 full gallon of liquid. Into the container, pour 1 to 2 gallons of room temperature (or warmer) water. Place in direct sunlight for several hours, to taste. Serve Paradise tropical tea over ice immediately, or refrigerate.
Boil/steep method::
Heat about half a gallon of water (just near boiling) then place the filter pack directly in the kettle. Cover with the lid, a kitchen towel, or a hot pad. Allow to steep 5 to 7 minutes. Remove the filter pack and dilute up to 1+ gallons with ice cold water to “shock” the tropical iced tea.
Kitchen Funnel method::
A variation of the boil method, above. Heat about half a gallon of water (just near boiling). Place the Paradise Tropical Tea filter pack in a standard kitchen funnel, situated on top of a large (1 gallon+) container. Carefully pour the water over the filter pack, and allow the brewed tea to flow into the container. Be careful pouring hot liquids onto cold glass, it can break! Dilute with ice water to desired strength.
Commercial/Restaurant Preparation:
In your tea brewer filter basket place one filter pack per gallon (prepared) of tea you are brewing. Brew! That’s it! Also consider using Paradise 3oz loose leaf tea for most 3 to 5 gallon iced tea brewers.
